Thursday 1st November

Picture 1

We took 2 teams to Brackley Junior School on Thursday 1st November for a Boccia Festival. Boccia is an inclusive precision ball sport, similar to boules, where competitors must try to throw their ball from a sitting position, as close to a white jack as possible.

We played a total of 10 matches, which were great fun and finished very close in some of them. We finished in 2nd and 3rd place, with the children being fantastic ambassadors for the school. Well done all!

On Thursday 5th July our year 3/4 hockey team took part in the county finals as part of the Northamptonshire School Summer Games. They were representing South Northants & Daventry having won the cluster and district tournaments. Following the opening ceremony, it was down to business with 4 pool matches to play.

We had a fantastic start with an 8-1 win, we then won, drew and lost the remaining 3 matches. We finished 2nd place in the group and faced Guilsborough for the Bronze medal play off. This was a very tense match, as it was a scorching day but the players didn't give up and we were victorious with a 4-2 win! They played some fantastic hockey and we are so proud of all of them for their commitment and team spirit over the last few months, well done all!

We had a brilliant afternoon at the hockey tournament on Wednesday. We started with a 4-0 win against Southfield, which set the tone as we then went on to win all our group matches. We were placed in the top 3 play off and as we beat both other teams this saw us take the top spot! We had a great record as scored 15 goals and conceded none. Well done to all the squad who played some fantastic hockey. We are looking forward to the district finals next week at Campion School.

Cluster Tag Rugby Festival

Wednesday 10th January 2018

Although it was a cold and damp typical January afternoon, the children didn't let the weather put them off playing some great rugby. We started the festival playing 3 pool matches against Newbottle and Charlton, Brackley Junior School and Bracken Leas B team. We played really well and scored some fantastic tries, which resulted in us being placed in the play offs for 4th, 5th and 6th place. We played 2 games, drew one and won the second game 6-1. As we had scored more tries than the other teams we finished top of our group and an overall position of 4th out of 9 schools. Well done to everyone for commitment and enthusiasm throughout the whole festival.
