Great excitement in the Panthers' classroom as we used our bodies to conduct electricity and light virtual lightbulbs! We coded on Scratch and used a device called a Makey Makey to create an electrical circuit. See the circuits in action at the Video Resource Centre.
As part of our 'Food & Feasting' unit in RE, we discussed abstinence; what foods people might abstain from eating and why. We then spent a lively session miming or drawing what abstinence means! Can you work out what the images are showing?!
In RE, we made these fabulous Easter gardens using natural things we found around the school grounds (and a few bits & bobs from home!).
We learned about Mardi Gras festivals as part of our Easter unit in RE and had fun making parade masks.
As part of our Ancient Egyptians topic, we made death masks, which were used to help the soul reunite with the body for the afterlife, and canopic jars, which were used to store the vital organs as part of the embalming process.
Our death masks were made using papier mache.
We tried to make them look like Tutankhamun!
Canopic jars stored vital organs of the dead.
We wrote our names in heiroglyphs.
We modelled the 'heads' using air-drying clay.
As part of our 'Stone Age to Iron Age' topic, we had a go at modelling Stone Henge!
