Year 3

Letter to Parents/ Carers - Friday 3rd April

Note to parents/carers

Week starting Monday 30th March

Hello Year 3,

So - we are in Week 2 of learning from home. I hope you are all well.

This week in maths the lesson powerpoints are really clear to follow, there is a voice that explains everything on the slide. Sometimes the man's voice will tell you to pause the slides and answer some questions on the worksheet before you carry on listening.  For the independent activity (the worksheet), make sure you don't click in 'Get the Answers' until you have finished all the questions.

If you have any problems just email me and I will help you as much as I can.

Hopefully you are getting into a good routine.  I suggest each lesson should take you an hour - just like at school.  I will be following our school timetable as much as I possibly can.

Times tables:  Please carry on practising your x3 x4 x8 times tables every day.  I will put a link to some new times tables songs  each day. Ask an adult to test you. Use TT Rockstars or Hit the Button to help you.  Learn the related division facts. Become a Rock Legend!!

Mathletics:I will be adding lots of activities but do not feel you have to complete all of them in one go!

Readiwriter: I will change the spellings for you to learn each Monday.  If you could ask someone to read out the list to test you on Mondays (as normal) and email me your results that would be great.

If you want to share something you are really proud of, please take a picture or send as an attachment and I may even put it on here for others to see

Timetable for each day

Instructions about the times tables

The children are used to completing the times table grids on a Friday. They are given 6 minutes to complete the sheet and are encouraged to start with the 3's and work along as knowing the 3, 4 and 8 times tables is a year 3 goal.

Instructions about the English

I know there is plenty of English to keep you busy but understand it might be too much so am more than happy for you to only do one activity a day or to take two or three days over one lesson and forget the other days. There is no expectation to complete all the activities, pick and choose what you fancy.
