PE

Our PE days are Monday and Wednesday. Please make sure both indoor AND outdoor PE kits are in school. 

Spellings

Spelling tests are every Wednesday. Spelling lists are uploaded to Class Dojo every Thursday ready for the following week's test. Spelling words are a mixture of words focusing on the sounds covered in phonics lessons that week and the focus 'red words' from group reading. Please feel free to learn extra 'red words' or additional phonics based words from the red and green word lists which can be found in the Phonics folder below. 

Reading

Read Write Inc Books are swapped weekly. As children read with adults at various points in the week, it is important that their reading books are in school every day. Home Reading Records are used for parents to make a record of their child's reading at home and so that children can work towards reading certificates. All children read daily during group reading sessions and at least once per week 1:1 with an adult, however this may not be recorded in the reading record. 

Library

Flamingos visit the library every Tuesday where they have the opportunity to take a book home to read for pleasure. Please ensure library books are in school this day ready to be swapped.

Wild Wood

Flamingos often go to the Wild Wood on Friday mornings. Please ensure children have suitable clothing in school for this at all times (Waterproofs or a coat and joggers along with wellies), as during poorer weather the day we visit may change.
