NMPAT (Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust) provides Helmdon Primary School with music teachers who attend school weekly to provide the children with expert tuition on keyboard, woodwind, brass, strings, guitar and recorders. Lessons are open to KS2 children with the exception of the recorder group which is open to children in Year 1 and above.
Parents purchase 33 NMPAT lessons per academic year and from September 2019, fees will be payable directly to NMPAT by parents. From September 2019, fees will be based upon a teaching time of 15 minutes per student and lessons will either be provided on an individual basis or in groups of 2 students for 30 minutes. Fees for music lessons from September 2019 will be £115 per term. Fees for recorder groups will be £36.75 per term, subject to there being adequate demand.
Individual letters explaining the re-enrolment process have been sent home to parents of children who are currently enrolled for lessons . A copy of this letter can be found below. A separate letter for new starters can also be found below. Whilst the original deadline of 14th June 2019 for both existing and new bookings has now passed, we understand that NMPAT are currently accepting late bookings.
As a general rule, we only encourage children to learn one instrument at school with NMPAT as they have to miss lesson time to have a music lesson. If you have any queries regarding this process please speak to or email Mrs Hedley in the office at the earliest opportunity (firstname.lastname@example.org).
