Welcome to our School Council Webpage
Our School Council is a group of children who are elected by their peers to represent the views of all of the pupils and to improve our school. We elect two children from each year group and we hold meetings every 2 weeks to discuss any ideas raised. All the children are encouraged to communicate their views and listen to others.
The aims of our School Council are as follows:
To ensure that the school is a safe and happy place for the children.
To ensure that the children have a place to voice any concerns/ideas.
To encourage all the children in the school to suggest improvements.
To ensure that any suggestions or concerns are listened to and acted upon.
On a practical note, School Council members are responsible for organising Craze of the Week throughout each term. This involves planning and organising provision of play equipment for all the children to use during morning break times. They are also actively involved in planning and organising World Book Day annually.
Recently, our School Council members have raised £135.00 for Sports Relief. They have also assisted a group of children to organise a book and toy sale for Shelter, raising £83.82.
