Attendance

In normal circumstances, all children are expected to attend school every day that we are open, which is 190 days per annum.   However, we appreciate that children are unable to attend school if they are unwell. If this is the case, please telephone the school office before 9am on the day to report your child's absence.   If you have any queries regarding attendance and illness, please speak to a member of staff and we will endeavour to help you.

NHS health advice, which we follow, is here: NHS guidance

As a result of legislation dating from 2013, Headteachers are unable to authorise holidays taken during term time except in exceptional circumstances. This means that any requests from parents for holidays will have to be rejected and if any parents do take their children on holiday during term time, the register will have to be marked as an unauthorised absence.

This is in line with the Education (Pupil Registration) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2006. In addition, The Education (Penalty Notices) (England) Regulations 2013 set out the procedures for issuing fixed penalty notices (fines) to each parent who fails to ensure their child's regular attendance at school.

Please be aware of these rules when making holiday bookings. The term time dates for the forthcoming year can be found on this website.
